TWK Dirigo Middle School Language Arts - Grades 7 and 8
The ability to read, comprehend, and write fluently is important for learning and in life. My goal is to provide a balanced language arts program which focuses on reading, writing, listening, and speaking. Students will read novels, short stories, non fiction selections, poems, and plays. The students will focus on developing the acquisition of vocabulary, comprehension strategies, and skills necessary to make connections among ideas and between texts.
Students will use the writing process to respond to reading through narrative, expository, and argumentative, descriptive and personal writing.
Vocabulary development and the study of grammar, usage, and writing mechanics will also continue.

Meet the Teacher
Being raised in Dixfield has given me a bond with the community and the students in it. My husband and I enjoy going to camp, golfing and traveling, and oh, yes- the New York Giants. We have an adult son and daughter, and twin granddaughters who I absolutely adore!!
I received my Bachelor of Science at the University Maine Farmington and my Master of Education at the University of Maine. I have taught for many years-all in this community- and continue to love it.
This is my first webpage, and I'm hoping that, in time, it will grow into a very helpful resource. Please continue to check back to see what's happening in our classroom.
